People want to build with bricks - all the same, straight edges that make straight walls and its all tidy. God calls us to build with stones, which is much harder. Heck - he asks us to build the kingdom of God with LIVING stones - fancy a try at that? Not only are they living - they are constantly in the process of change and movement. It works wonders for your control issues, always looks like a mess to you and glorious to God.

I wonder - do you think God has a displacement strategy? can we disperse stand extend and establish without dispersal, do we have an inherrant 'fall' syptom of centralising - does God work with this / dispite this - His purpose to perform? I think God is for unity, but he demolishes wrong covenants / wrong partnering and agreements? Without babel - i wonder where Gods agenda for nations and diversity and 'whole' earth inhabitation would have come from. Did god have a pre ordained agenda for the forming of nations / cities?
That dutch bloke and that cities /nations book...can you paste his name in comments for me - cant remember it - but he unpacks babel a little in terms of divine agenda for nations forming.
