Dumb Guy's PRAYER verses PRAYER
I was tempted to make one of the prayer words smaller than the other as if to give one of them seniority over the other, but that would be misleading and from personal bias.
So - im doing a lot of prayer stuff, a lot of gathering points / connecting points for change seems to be prayer contexts.
This week i realised that while we are all speaking the same language of desiring to see prayer movements occur, and for those prayer movements to create a fresh culture of prayer in Gods saints, that there are several sides to the coin.
I had (being a muppet) taken for granted that the present enthusiasm for people to pray, was about changing things, in particular the church. My reason for this is that i cannot separate Prayer from Reformation. Now of couse there is the 'pray at all time and in all ways' scenario - but to be honest, most folks chat with God about stuff most of the day, so i dont see that we need to create something fresh there. The absense in 'prayer' has been the prayer that puts our lives back into context in Gods purpouses. So for instance> We come before God, He VERY BIG....we very small, so we see ourselves in context of Gods greatness, then we see ourselves as integral to His purposes.....AND WHEN THAT HAPPENS - heck..All Heaven Breaks Loose.
But ive realised that some folks are really into the 'developing a culture of prayer' thing because Prayer Is Good....
So.... poooh! I have begun to see that prayer is seen by some as an end in and of itself - a good discipline for well rounded believers, and not particularly a means or vehicle or agent of change.
When we stop praying what we are praying - We can start Saying what God is Saying.
So Whats He Saying? What needs building - what needs tearing down - what needs to be made subject to the inbreaking of His kingdom on this earth.
mmhhh
Gosh

Aaaaarrrrgggghhh! Another "deep thought" subject. Prayer is so "4th dimensional" it's hard to know where to begin. It's about talking to Papa God, about listening to Him. It's about aligning oneself to Him in order to be transformed. Just like when you take a wire and put it in parallel with another wire that has current running through it. The current creates a magnetic field. When that field cuts across the other wire, it induces a voltage in it (so much for your basci electronics lesson). When we line-up with Papa God, His Word, we get transformed. Prayer is about intimacy. It's also about standing in the gap, a time for intercession, a time for calling out. Possibly a million more things about prayer.
"So Whats He Saying? What needs building - what needs tearing down - what needs to be made subject to the inbreaking of His kingdom on this earth."
So yah, this part fits too. But He could also just be saying "Be Still and know that I AM". Selah . . .

Man - what a word for the church if ever i heard one...Be STILL and Know... gotta be virtually impossible in the corporate sense i would have thought - but what a challenge - when the heck is the church as we have known it still?? Great Challenge.
I think from time to time (funny that) that we should close shop once a year for a month A) to ask God where next B) to see who comes back.
Also - I wonder if we should give the body a 3 month sabaticle from ministry aver 7 years too? Theres gotta be mileage in something like that.
best stuff

Ever been in a prayer meeting where there was a period of silence? Chances are that we all have felt like saying something just because we couldn't stand the silence.
So often I seek or desire solitude just to be with Papa God, but then my life gets so full of ***stuff*** that it deosn't happen. Then when it does happen, I go blitzo after 10 minutes of "quiet"; I just can't seem to hold still. Maybe we all suffer from some sort of spiritual ADD or something. Or maybe we have all bought into the "gotta be productive" line given to us by "civilized", "advanced", "1st world" culture? What ever happened to the Celtic Christian concept of "wasting time on God"?
In American culture, I believe it was the Mennonites (or maybe the Quakers) that would just sit, quietly, and wait for God to move. But here's the rub; I've been getting a ***LOT*** of confirmation about walking out, taking to ground, the prophetic words spoken over me.
A lot of other people have had this revelation as well. So what's the rub? How do you move and be still at the same time? Brings up one of my favorite "P" words: Paradox.
Two truths in dynamic tension.

Yarrr Me Hearties...(wathinc pirates of carribean - kids off school - woohoo).
Being Still, and Taking Ground
I guess its following the pillar of fire and smoke to some degree, but lets face it - even i could do that, but its following the inner voice, often more softly spoken than my flesh, the world and the enemy. Somehow - even on the road - God manages to get through, i guess He is an opportunist, but it really does help to have a 'my life is His' mentality - i think that helps us hear Him on the road because we are actively following Him where He is going (really annoying this capital H thing).
I like taking land and territory - but we have to occupy for it to become a kingdom place, cause if we pass through, it belongs to the next person.
I love watching the Keith Greene documentary - it makes a considerable difference that a True seeker seems to become a True follower convinced of a life poured out.
Be great to chat over the 'taking territory' stuff and what that means for you.
